Classic Sawdust Designs builds custom solid wood furniture and built-ins from our shop in Saskatoon. What began as general woodworking has narrowed, deliberately, into the work we do best: dining, bedrooms, bunk rooms and built-ins for homes across Saskatchewan.
Our story
Why we stopped building everything
For years we said yes to almost any woodworking request. It kept the lights on, but it also meant our best work sat beside jobs that anyone could have done. The pieces that mattered, the ones customers sent photos of years later, were always the same: a dining table sized to a specific room, a bunk wall in a cabin, a mudroom that finally tamed a family of five.
So we narrowed. Today we focus on solid wood furniture and built-ins for homes, with selected commercial work where the woodwork carries the room. It means fewer projects at a time, more attention on each one, and a shop that is genuinely good at the thing you are hiring us for.
We are still a small operation, and that is the point. You will not be handed off. The person who measures your room is the person who mills the lumber and installs the finished piece.
Solid wood, always
We build from hardwood lumber we mill ourselves. No veneered particleboard hiding under a stain.
Design before sawdust
Drawings, dimensions and finish samples are agreed before we cut. Surprises belong in birthday parties, not invoices.
One conversation, start to finish
You talk to the person building your furniture. Nothing gets lost between a salesperson and a shop.

We live here. Our work sits in the homes of neighbours, and our name is on every piece of it.
